How to Find Your Device’s MAC Address

MAC address (Media Access Control address) is a unique identifier assigned to your device’s network interface. If you’re trying to access a secured network or need to register your device for authentication, you may be asked to provide your MAC address.

Below are step-by-step instructions for finding your MAC address on various devices:


📱 iPhone / iPad

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Tap General.

  3. Tap About.

  4. Scroll down to Wi-Fi Address – this is your device’s MAC address.

Note: Starting from iOS 14, Apple uses Private Wi-Fi addresses by default. If you need the real MAC address for a specific network:

  • Go to Settings > Wi-Fi

  • Tap the ⓘ next to your network

  • Turn off Private Wi-Fi Address to reveal your real MAC address

💻 iMac / MacBook (macOS)

  1. Click the Apple logo in the top-left corner.

  2. Choose System Settings (macOS Ventura and later) or System Preferences (older versions).

  3. Go to Network.

  4. Select your active network connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet).

  5. Click the Details or Advanced button.

  6. Find the Wi-Fi Address or MAC Address listed there.


🤖 Android Devices

Note: Menu labels might vary slightly depending on your device manufacturer (Samsung, Google Pixel, etc.).

  1. Open the Settings app.

  2. Tap About Phone (sometimes found under System).

  3. Tap Status or Hardware Information.

  4. Look for Wi-Fi MAC address.

If you're connected to Wi-Fi:

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi

  • Tap your connected network

  • Look for the MAC address under Advanced

🪟 Windows (10/11)

Option 1: Via Settings

  1. Click Start and open Settings.

  2. Go to Network & Internet.

  3. Select Wi-Fi or Ethernet, depending on your connection.

  4. Click Hardware Properties.

  5. Look for Physical address (MAC).

Option 2: Via Command Prompt

  1. Press

    , and press Enter.

  2. In the Command Prompt window, type:

    CopyEdit

    getmac /v /fo list

  3. Find the Physical Address listed for your active network adapter.


💡 Tips

  • A MAC address typically looks like this: 

    00:1A:2B:3C:4D:5E

  • If you’re using a device with multiple network interfaces (Wi-Fi, Ethernet, etc.), make sure to copy the correct one.

  • MAC addresses are not case-sensitive.
